You Do

on Mon 16 Nov 2009 by Joelle Waltham

This is not a good album. The word good should never come close to describing this album. In fact, under international legislation the word good is prevented from coming within 50ft of "We Know Mason - You Do". In its place the word mediocre should always be used. The overall feel is a band desperately trying to be a worse version of Oasis. The lyrical content made me physically cringe. While, musically, the album is just extremely dull. No clever hooks or interesting lead lines, just a seemingly endless repetition of simple chords. There is a complete lack of anything experimental, interesting, or just anything outside a continual plodding along through uninspired musical tedium. There is no sense that anyone is playing in the band for any other reason that they happened to live down the road and owned an instrument.
It is painless empty rock music, with a sober Liam Gallagher playing frontman, using simple rhymes to describe simple ideas.
Somalian pirates have a better chance of taking the UK by storm than this album.
