I wish I was cool enough to sing 'the party don't start 'till I walk in' but I feel that actually, Ke$ha is cool enough to sing this. With her almost Gaga-esque, manufactured sounding disco pop, Ke$ha's debut album 'Animal' is most certainly a guilty pleasure. Including songs about house parties, being love hungover, boots, boys, 'getting rowdy tonight' and yet more alcohol and parties, it seems that pop's rebel side has gone X-Rated and turned into 22 year old Kesha Sebert. However, Ke$ha's odd speech-like singing mixed into synthesizers and pop-beats gives her that individual sound that albeit quite cringy, is also extremely catchy. Animal is a great pop album from the noughties, it's good fun, with its bling and dollar $igns, and generally all round glittery goodness. Its inner album sleeve exclaiming in rainbow sparkles - 'It's Party Time!' a great reflection of a generically great album.
